Crystal Teng is a healing arts practitioner, currently serving the Metro Detroit area. She holds a BA in Theology and Japanese Studies from Colgate University and is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Michigan. She draws from the lexicon of somatic wisdom learned through 10+ years of training the martial and movement arts and views the body as a community of intelligent systems that work together. During a session, she may hold a point of tension in the body until it releases---this can be a deep and potentially painful myofascial release, or it can be a more subtle touch, working with tissue and energy restrictions around the nervous system with Craniosacral Therapy techniques learned through her training with the Upledger Institute. She may also move the body to test range of motion, to traction connection points, to stretch, to help muscles relax. Each body has their own unique history, their own unique relationship with wellness and unease, and so each body will need something a little different and Crystal practices respect for that with an open and curious attitude.

She uses elements of Thai and Shiatsu, which can also be done fully clothed.
